1977 B52s play live for first time at Valentine’s Party in Athens, GA.

1981 Billy Idol quits Generation X.

1984 Elton John gets married to Renata Blauer.

1987 Bon Jovi hit sales of five million with Slippery When Wet.

1987 George Strait becomes the first act to debut at No. 1 on US country and western LP chart with Ocean Front Property.

1987 Ballerina Girl moves to No. 10, giving Lionel Richie his thirteenth consecutive Top 10 single on US Hot 100.

1990 At the start of the Rolling Stones first ever tour of Japan, they play the first of a season of 10 nights at Tokyo’s Korakuen Dome. The ticket prices are10,000 yen ($70) and 50,000 will see them each night.
